In my opinion, a grill’s features should compliment its price, so it shouldn’t be a hassle to spot a grill with serious potential. Some fall short while others may exceed your expectations. With that in mind, here’s a summary of what makes up the Blackstone Tabletop:

Cold Rolled Steel Griddle Top – You won’t get the attractive grill marks on your burgers, but coated steel should bring your meat to sear real quick. The cooktop covers all the bases of a true outdoor grill, being easy to clean, durable and rust resistant.

268 Sq. In. Cooking Capacity – You should comfortably feed a party of 6-8 with that much space. It’s not winning any awards for large scale cooking, but cold-rolled steel is great for quick cooking as it holds up heat pretty well.

Stainless Steel Construction – The grill is stainless steel for the most part, except for the painted steel frame and cold-rolled steel cooktop. So, cleaning it should be a breeze and steel is very durable even under the most extreme conditions.

12,000 BTU, “H” Shaped Burner – The “H” shaped burner distributes heat evenly so you shouldn’t expect annoying cold spots. Propane grills heat up fast and with this one you can easily manage the temperature, with 5 heat settings to work with.

Other Notable Features:

  • Integrated Grease Management System
  • Built-in Igniter
  • Uses 1lb propane canister, adjustable to 20lb tanks

Blackstone Tabletop Grill Cleaning & Maintenance:

You don’t have to be a human care bear to make your grill stand the test of time. Blackstone claims you shouldn’t have issues keeping the Blackstone Tabletop Grill in tip-top condition. But let’s see whether claim holds water:

Exterior cleaning – Cold-rolled steel is fairly easy to clean, you can scrub off grease with a wet cloth and food residue with your chisel, then use soapy water and a scrub to make it shine again. Just let it cool off first, unmount it and give it a good scrub, wash and rinse.

Interior Cleaning – There’s a grease management system so your burners should remain clean. In the event grease makes its way in there, you can wipe the burner clean with a damp cloth laced in dishwasher soap. Then, use a paper towel to dry it down.

Storage – Always store propane grills in a dry area to avoid rust. Place the griddle in an upside down position to save on space, then throw it in a grill bag. You can get the unit’s grill cover on Amazon for around $20. It doubles up as a carry bag as well.

Blackstone Tabletop Grill Portability:

I bet one of the main reasons why you’re here is because you’re looking for a grill you can conveniently tailgate with. So, with the Blackstone Tabletop, you have a 26 pound tabletop appliance measuring 17.5 inches long and 18 inches wide. It should snuggle into your trunk without eating up too much space. Be sure to be gentle, the burner is quite delicate. If you’re using 1lb propane canisters, this grill should follow you wherever you go effortlessly. I personally find 20lb tanks ridiculously cumbersome, but that’s just me.

Blackstone Tabletop Grill Warranty:

The Blackstone Tabletop carries a one year warranty, while accessories have a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty covers all the grill’s parts, workmanship and finishing. They claim that they reserve the right to repair or replace any part. Duh!

Anyway, the warranty is also not transferable in case you resell your unit. The warranty should be good if you follow the care and usage instructions. Remember to keep your receipt safe. You can read more on that here.

Heads up though, following up on warranty issues can be difficult. But it doesn’t have to be when you shop on Amazon. With great customer service and easy returns, following up on warranty issues is a non-issue.

Blackstone Tabletop Grill Accessories:

What good is a grill if you can’t have some fun with it? Using the Blackstone Tabletop can get boring without some accessories to spruce up the cooking experience. With that in mind, here are some accessories you can add to your grilling experience with this grill:

Blackstone Tabletop Grill Replacement Parts:

It’s unfortunate that sometimes you may have to replace one or more parts of a grill just to keep it functional. Well, some companies usually make certain parts available so you don’t have to buy a whole new grill in case something breaks. Sadly, it seems there are no replacement parts for the Blackstone Tabletop Grill, but in my experience, regulators for Blackstone products can be used across the board.

Blackstone Tabletop Grill Cost:

I can tell you off the bat that getting the best price for a grill can be tough, with stores pricing them differently. Well, the Blackstone Tabletop costs around $100 on average. If we’re comparing prices, Amazon.com is the surest bet for the best price, as there are always deals available to you. What Do We Like?

I wonder how the best tailgating grill in the world looks like. Subjective as that may sound, the optimist in me says it does exist somewhere. But then again, I doubt whether the Blackstone Tabletop is the best, but it does take a pretty good shot at it. Here’s why:

It’s compact and portable – This grill would fit perfectly in your trunk or a kitchen cabinet for storage. With just 300 square inches of space required, carrying it around shouldn’t stress you out.

Easy to clean – Unlike stand-up grills, tabletops are fairly easy to clean. You don’t need to get down and dirty to clean this one as it’s mostly stainless steel and the cooking surface is non-stick. Did i mention cold rolled steel hardly rusts?

Blackstone Tabletop Grill Complaints:

If you don’t consider a grill’s drawbacks alongside with what you’ve just read, you may face the music when crap hits the fan. Things can get ugly, and that’s why we thought you may want to know about some of the glaring complaints about the Blackstone Tabletop.

Igniter and Knob Problems – Some customers say they ran into frustrating problems with the igniter. Again, the knobs wouldn’t budge as you try to adjust the temperature. They tend to loosen up after continued use, requiring replacement.

The seasoned surface flakes – This is perhaps the most common complaint, with most negative opinions about the unit pointing to a flaky cooktop. So you may want to go easy on it while cleaning. Also, remember to season it generously before storing it away.

Warped Cooktop – Again with the cooktop, it warps easily losing its glorious form after a couple of cooking rounds. So, you may want to consider other options we’ll discuss later in this review.

Poor customer service – If you run into problems with your grill, you’re on your own. Several customers say they could not get through to customer service after several attempts. Those that did manage to get through to them either hit a dead end or weren’t satisfied with the final word. Fortunately, you don’t have to deal with crappy customer service when you shop on Amazon.

So, if anything you’ve just read has thrown you off, here are a couple of Blackstone Tabletop grill alternatives we’ve reviewed before that you can check out:

Should You Buy The Blackstone Tabletop Grill?

The Blackstone Tabletop is a popular tabletop grill, designed for life on the road. It’s compact and versatile where it counts, and you’ll love the overall look. But you may have to season it before and after use, sigh! Anyway, just stock up on flaxseed oil. 260 square inches of cooking space and 12,000 BTUs should be enough to effortlessly cook for 4 or 5 people, assuming you don’t run into gatecrashers.

But remember to take good care of the cooktop, it tends to flake and warp if you overlook the whole seasoning process. The only other issue was slacky customer service on the part of the manufacturer, but you won’t have such issues if you buy it on Amazon.

Overall, this grill is way up there with its competition and you can score a great deal for it on Amazon.com, including FREE 1-3 Day Guaranteed Delivery if you’re subscribed to Amazon Prime.
