About Cuisinart Grills:

Cuisinart is a home appliance brand under the Conair Corporation. Their headquarters are located in Stamford, Connecticut. It was founded in 1971 by Carl Sontheimer. They manufacture and sell ice cream makers, microwaves, kitchen tools, grills, including the Cuisinart CGG-200, and other home appliances.

Cuisinart CGG-200 Features

Cuisinart claims that the Cuisinart CGG-200 is a mind blowing high performance grill that is easy to use and gives you the best results. Let’s take a closer look and see whether any of these claims hold any water.

  • Fast heating – This has to be the best feature of the CGG-200. It has quick heating that brings the grill to optimum temperature levels in a short amount of time. If you are the impatient type, then you will just love this feature.
  • 12,000 BTU Stainless Steel Loop Burner – This grill provides 12,000 BTUs of heat, which is one of the highest on the grill market. With such maximum heat, the CGG-200 can cater to all of your grilling needs.
  • Double Insulated Stainless Steel Lid Walls – The insulation of the lid walls is a really impressive feature. It prevents any heat loss that may occur while grilling, maintaining the inside temperature of the grill.
  • Porcelain Coated Plates – The CGG-200 is made up of cast iron coated with porcelain which gives the grill extra durability. The porcelain is heat resistant and protects the grill’s structure from exposure to high temperatures that may compromise the grill’s durability and strength.
  • Heat Resistant Lid – The stainless steel loop lid is heat resistant which allows you to open and close the lid easily without grilling your own hands.

Other Features to Note:

  • Precision temperature gauge
  • Twist ignition system
  • Equipped to use either 16-oz or 14.1-oz LPG bottles
  • Large insulated carrying handles

Cuisinart CGG-200 Cleaning & Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance of your Cuisinart CGG-200 grill will give you a long lasting grill that will provide maximum satisfaction.

Exterior cleaning

Use warm soapy water to clean the exterior parts of the grill. The stainless steel lid and panels can be cleaned using a stainless steel cleaner. This will leave it with its shiny look and remove any grease stains that may have stained your grill. Do not wash your dish tray in the dishwasher, rather manually clean it with soapy warm water.

Interior cleaning

You can clean the cooking grate in two ways. Warm the cooking grate and use a grill brush to scrape off any dirt or cool the grate and wash it with warm soapy water.

If you wish to remove debris and dirt from the bottom of your grill, remove the cooking grate and scrape off all the dirt and debris carefully without touching the ignition wire or burner element.

Do not use water to clean the inside of your grill.

Cuisinart CGG-200 Portability

The Cuisinart CGG-200 grill is a small, portable grill specifically designed for outdoor use (so do not operate it inside your home or car). Its dimensions are 42” H × 18.5” W × 15” L.

Due to its relatively small size, it is easy to assemble and tear down.

The Cuisinart CGG-200 is also lightweight. It weighs 35 pounds and is not bulky. Its carrying handles are also large enough to make the grill easy to transport.

Cuisinart CGG-200 Warranty

The Cuisinart CGG-200 grill comes with a three year warranty from the date of purchase. Any damage caused by faulty maintenance or use of the grill, improper assembly of the grill or use of substandard spare parts are not covered by the warranty.

But you don’t have to worry about warranty issues when you shop on Amazon.com, where quality and reliable customer service is superb.

Cuisinart CGG-200 Accessories

Cuisinart CGG-200 Cost

What Do We Like?

The Cuisinart CGG-200 has some of the best features, which makes this grill one of the most preferred tailgating grills on the market. Here is what we like:

Fast heating – It is perfectly designed to heat up at a fast rate so that you can get grilling in no time.

Easy to use – The twist ignition system allows you to turn the knob with one hand and get the party started. This is a safe ignition system that is simple and effective.

Insulation – The insulated double lid walls prevent heat loss. This maintains the interior temperature of the grill to ensure perfect grilling conditions. Its exterior parts are also insulated which allow for easy and safe operation of the grill.

Easy portability – The CGG-200 is light, small and less bulky compared to other grills. This feature alone makes it one of the most sought after tailgating grills.

Cuisinart CGG-200 Complaints

As we all know, no product is perfect. No matter how good the Cuisinart CGG-200 might be, it still has some negatives that you need to know about before spending your hard-earned money on it.

The burner knobs wear out easily – Customers have complained about these knobs. If you fail to push the knob in before twisting it, the knob will begin to wear out. This will result in you spending more money on getting it fixed.

Small cooking area – This is a small grill that comes with a small dome. It is large enough for a small tailgating crew but not for a full-blown party.

Should You Buy the Cuisinart CGG-200?

When buying a grill, you should look for one that suits your style. One that does not compromise on performance and, most importantly, one that won’t let you down when you need it the most. If you enjoy tailgating with a small group of friends, then the Cuisinart CGG-200 is perfect for you. It is relatively cheap, of good quality and is easy to carry around.

What’s Hot:

  • Fast heating
  • Highly portable
  • Lightweight
  • Affordable price
  • Easy to use and assemble

  1. I found your review very helpful in giving me food for thought before making a purchase of this grill. I liked the double walled cover. I imagine it not only keeps the heat inside but also reduces the chance of burning your fingers when touching the lid.

I’m assuming this is a gas fueled grill. I would like to know a bit more about what size gas canister I would need as well as how long the gas would last for typical grilling.

    Thanks,

    Edwin

    1. Hi Edwin: Glad you found this review helpful! Based on our research, customers usually use 16.4 oz. tanks with this grill, but you can use larger canisters if you have the right adapter hose. As far as how long the gas will last, that depends on how often you grill. But some customers have said that after one hour total time of grilling, they are still on their first tank. Hope this helps!
